Be Intentional, Rest with Purpose

Five Minute Friday (Monday): Intentional

With lots of prayer and pondering, I’ve decided that my one word for 2018 is BALANCE.

Although I had good intentions for 2017 and I persevered, I found myself anxious about many things beyond my control. As we ventured into house hunting, my emotions just seemed to spiral.

So, my goal for this year is to have more balance of doing and resting. We live in a society that tells us that to be successful we must constantly be in the hustle and bustle.

While it is necessary to act, it is equally important that we take rest.

Rest allows us to rejuvenate.

Create a space where you can allow your mind to go ‘blank.’
Create a space to be emotional, rather that is reflected in tears or laughter. Because sometimes tears are necessary.

Let it out.

Root your thoughts and TRUTH.

Be intentional with your progress, knowing that small progress is still progress.

Be intentional with self-care.

Be intentional with words of kindness, thoughts of grace, and keeping God center.

When God is center and we are intentional about our relationship with him, things just seem to go from chaos to calm. Our perspective brings peace.

Be Intentional. Live with purpose.

I so appreciate your perspective here. Though I didn’t move this past year I definitely relate to the anxious part. We need that rhythm of busyness and rest, challenge and comfort. Balance is a really good word for 2018.
